with BiliTiles Helping to Create a New Art Landmark
As the scroll slowly unfolds, the prosperous scene of 56 ethnic groups leaps into view. On May 7th, the cultural wall at the south gate of Hunan University of Science and Technology (HNUST), which took over a year to meticulously build, emerged with a brand-new look — becoming a new landmark and popular check-in spot for the university. Behind this masterpiece, BiliTiles (a brand under Foshan Yanshen Decoration Materials Co., Ltd.) played a pivotal role in crafting the mosaic murals.
Overview of the Cultural Wall: A Fusion of History and Ethnic Unity
From a distance, the wall resembles a giant scroll unfurling, harmoniously complementing surrounding landmarks like the library and south gate square. The craftsmanship is exquisite, blending artistry with technical precision to create a scene that is both “ingenious” and “magnificent.”
Design Process: Meticulous Craftsmanship Behind the Scenes
- Pattern details were adjusted over 200 times, and the color palette expanded from 75 initial shades to 258.
- For the 56 ethnic groups depicted, 112 students first wore traditional costumes to pose dynamically (captured via photography), ensuring each figure’s portrayal is “vivid and lifelike.”
BiliTiles’ Role: Precision and Expertise in Mosaic Production
- The smallest mosaic tiles boast a precision of just 3 millimeters.
- A 180-meter section of the mosaic was assembled by 20+ skilled workers over 150 days (working overtime), with BiliTiles’ strict quality standards embedded throughout the process.
